Hello Everyone,
I'm happy to announce that as of today shipping is underway! We have inventory on both continents and have begun batch shipping as many as we can. I started shipping NA and Vince will start shipping Europe soon as well.
In the meantime, I want to give a shout out to the team behind Arcane Sally & Mr. Steam. I met the creator David Alton Hedges at SDCC last week. His series Arcane Sally & Mr. Steam is a wonderfully styled and written steampunk pulp adventure. Their latest issue needs a little push to get over the finish line ($400 left with 20 hours to go) so please check it out if it sounds like your cup of tea!

Thank you for your patience everyone! Please let us know if you do have any questions or comments. I'm checking Kickstarter roughly every time I work on the campaign, which is at least once a week but will be more the next two as we continue shipping orders!
Cheers,
Ray

Hey Folks,
Just a quick update for today. This week I've been contacting various printers to work out what the best permutation would be for us to fill out our backlog. In addition to printing Glow #3 (which was ordered a while ago), we need to reorder issues #1-2 split across the UK/USA. We think the best way may be to use multiple printers located in each geographic region, so we've been working on that.
I know I said last week that BackerKit surveys would go up this week, but it's looking like it's going to take a little longer. I'm working on it right now but will probably not be done until early next week at the earliest.
The important thing is we're still on track to fulfill next month. We'll also release our digital copies next week as well.
Sorry for the short delay but stay tuned folks...
Ray and Vince
Folks we did it!
Thank to you we get to keep making Glow! Woohoo!
This particular campaign was a challenge in a lot of ways. I wrote in one of the earlier updates about how I think the thumbnail for the project during the first 72 hours might have been a bit of a bungle on our end. I know by a lot of measures this campaign was a huge success, but I guess when you've been at it for a little bit like we have there's always some intangible goalpost that needs to be climbed because some part of us always wants more, right? Bigger, better, stronger, faster! Ah-go-go-go-go!
I've been making my way through Netflix's new food series Taco Chronicles. The second episode features a gentleman named Don Jamie who has dedicated his life to the craft of carnitas. The care he shows in his product is inspiring... the pursuit of perfection of a seemingly simple product with infinite depth. More than just being a great cook, Don Jamie is... wise, man. Like, he's straight up a carnitas jedi.
"Most of all, I am satisfied with my job. But my greatest satisfaction is in feeling the people's approval. People find us, they support us. That's what counts most."
"Sometimes in life we need to lack something, to be in need, to suffer a bit. This is how you value your job. This is how you value people. And this is also how you value life, isn't that right?
"For whatever reason, some things don't turn out the way you want them to. And I am always rectifying. I've been making carnitas for fifty years and I am still learning."
----
Don Jamie's words reminded me of why we make comics. Outside of any enterprise, it's the pursuit of a craft and the support of the fans. So long as we keep creating, we keep growing. And so long as we keep growing, we get better. That's all it's about at the end of the day.
So, all's that is my long winded of saying: Thank you, once again. You found us, you supported us, and because of you we get to keep going.
We plan to release our BackerKit surveys next week. You'll be able to grab any add-ons and a la carte items then. Vince and I are going to do our best to get out the orders by the end of August. We have the books printed and we're pretty much ready to go. Fingers crossed that we can get it all done by then!
I'm writing this the night before. It's 1:07 AM right now and in about four hours I'll be hitting the road to Comic-Con!
-----------
And I'm back! 13 hours later... what a day it's been. I woke up at 4, drove down to SD, packed in, built the booth, and then went to my hotel, hoping to catch some Z's. Well, no luck! I couldn't check in until just now so apologies for not updating as soon as the campaign closed. Here's what the booth looks like!
If you're attending San Diego Comic-Con, please find me at Q-3 in Small Press West! It's directly across from the Oni Press booth. Here's a view from the table:
Also, I'll be on a panel on Thursday! Here's a link to the event info!

Unfortunately, Vince can't make it to SDCC this year so it'll only be me on the panel. But please come by anyway!
To close things out, I wanted to give a shout to these awesome Kickstarter comics that I recently backed!
A couple of years ago I wrote a beer pong sports shounen with my good friend Alan Tse. We found an awesome German illustrator by the name of Hannes Radke who absolutely killed on the project. To date, BP is still the comic project that I had the most fun creating. Hannes' new project is a sort of Final Fantasy and Star Wars had a child. If that sounds like your cup of tea check it out (and yes, you can get an English edition of the comic!)
Charlie Stickney and Conor Hughes, creators of White Ash, are beasts. I have no idea what The Game is about but I bet you it's good because Charlie's a great writer and Conor kills it everytime. They somehow managed to stuff this new comic in between the four they run for White Ash a year. Check it out!
The first issue of this comic was a great debut, and the creative team is back just a couple of months later with their second! These darn kids, forcing us to rethink how much content we can pump out.... Beastlands is a heartfelt fantasy in a world that's got kind of like a medieval fantasy Pokemon thing going on. The art style is beautiful - certainly what drew me in the first time around. Check it out!

Okay folks, nap time for me. ORRRR ... maybe carne asada fries THEN nap? I don't know. Sounds risky. Will play it by ear. Hope to see some of you tonight and the rest of the week!
